Vipera chosen for Slovenia instant payments mobile solution

Vipera, a developer of cutting-edge digital banking, payment & customer engagement solutions, has been selected by Slovenia’s processor Bankart to develop the Instant Payments mobile solution for the country.

Leveraging on the instant payment rails provided by Nordic processor Nets, Vipera’s Instant Payment mobile solution will enable Slovenian users and merchants to:
• Send Money to another user by simply using the beneficiary phone number or email.
• Request a Payment from any user.
• Pay a Merchant by QR code or NFC.

The solution is based on Vipera’s Motif mobile payment platform that orchestrates all flows through the Instant Payment mobile app and POS devices.

Bankart says the move to real-time payments allows Slovenian banks to deliver innovative new mobile and online services to customers and keep pace with developments in neighbouring European economies.

Aleksander Kurtevski, managing director, Bankart, comments: “Our ambition is to lay a future proof foundation for a whole new eco-system that will ensure new innovative services can be deployed by our customer banks, and ensure that the Slovenian community will have services which are both competitive and cost effective and at the same time enables the best user experience both in day to day banking and commerce.”

Marco Casartelli, CEO of Vipera comments: “We are delighted to deepen our relationship with Bankart, following the successful deployment earlier this year of our HCE contactless payment solution in Slovenia. Instant Payments is an integral part of the trend towards a cashless society and it is an exciting space for us to operate in”.
